FML is generally available for up to 12 weeks for: your own serious health condition; the serious health condition of a family member; or the birth, adoption or foster care of a child. Generally, up to 26 weeks may be provided for a covered service member with a serious injury or illness.
UCCL provides you with unpaid leave to care for a newly born child, adopted child or child placed in foster care. It is generally available for up to 20 weeks (100 working days) within the first six months (130 working days) from the date of birth, adoption or foster care placement.
