Merck’s Educational Assistance Program offers financial assistance to help you enhance your capabilities and advance your education, while also carrying out your regular work responsibilities.

The program reimburses* up to $12,000 of covered expenses ($6,000 for part-time employees) via payroll. There is no waiting period — covered expenses are paid upon application approval, instead of at the end of the course. The program requires a one-year commitment that starts each time you receive reimbursement.

For more information on eligibility and details about the program, review the Educational Assistance Policy or contact Bright Horizons at merck.edassist.com (for information and live chat).

*Reimbursements that exceed $5,250 in a given tax year are taxable and taxes are withheld directly from the reimbursement payment.

Most everyone needs an estate plan — especially if you want to keep your estate out of probate, find ways to save on taxes and help control how your assets are transferred to your loved ones upon your passing. Your estate plan should also include your family’s financial and health care powers of attorney, living wills and advanced health care directives. Fidelity’s estate planning library explains concepts simply.

You can also enroll in the MetLife group legal plan during annual enrollment to access a nationwide network of experienced attorneys. When you see a plan attorney, covered services are paid in full. For more information, go to the Group legal section of this site.
